Final project

I created TARO the app.

Make it stand out.

The reason for creating this application is strictly for entertainment.

The work I produced is well conceptualized and the technical component is the code of the app as shown in this presentation and in my movie.

It is social, a little conceptual, and technical.

I used what I learned during the courses, Media Law, Creative Coding, and Theories of Media and Technology. The tarot cards I designed myself as I feared copyright infringement, so now I know I do not have to worry about that. The code I used was like what I learned in creative coding. Swift is the result of the latest research on programming languages, combined with decades of experience building Apple platforms. It looks a bit like Javascript what we learned in Creative Coding. The social interaction with the object, the interface and actant is what I learned in the Theories of Media and Technology course.

The work’s remix addresses the social, technical and conceptual issues in detail. They obviously incorporate into the project. Tarot cards is an old phenomenon. The core idea of my project is about everything you want to know about life. It reminded me of pancomputationalism what I was researching in the Theories of Media and Technology course. My project was actually touched by all the courses.

My technical component – is derived from Creative Coding. Swift is a little “brother” from Javascript I used JSON for transmitting data in my application like we learned in Creative Coding.

I had an issue with copyright infringement laid forth in Media Law as I feared for the usage of common cards so I designed 14 cards myself.

The conceptual dimension stemming from Theories of Media and Technology is actually the interface of the app, the object and the actant we learned about.

The clear purpose of my project is to entertain yourself and play a game. You press play and the cards flip, you play with the past and future, whatever ends with the highest score that symbol on your card is the answer to your question. I think it is understandable by the intended audience. You press play and if the past or future wins that is your focus in life that needs some progress and looking into. I might check on this though, there were still some errors while testing it. The game doesn’t stop. It keeps on dealing cards like forever. That’s kind of a problem. I found all the coding answers on the developer site from Apple. They have amazing Swift code tutorials to learn from. Some I actually copied while learning, let’s call it the Apple remix :) . Check the developer site here

The project adequately address the idea of a ‘remix’ by the developing and it’s usage and name, Tarot is something we all know about. The question "What is tarot and how does it work?" Can be answered in an infinite number of ways, and the answer largely depends on the tarotist to whom you ask the question. For example, one tarotist uses the cards for meditation, another as an aid in coaching and another as an instrument to get in touch with his or her psychic gifts and to predict the future. You see how differently these three tarotists would answer the question. The tarot cards also have a vibration, feel your vibration and the vibrations that are currently hanging around the earth / in the cosmos / in the Netherlands. You also feel those vibrations, but usually we are not aware of them, it is the subconscious mind that receives the vibrations. And indeed, our intuition, our "inner knowing" comes from the subconscious mind.

The tarotist therefore chooses the cards from this subconscious mind. So you subconsciously choose cards during this Taro game reading based on their vibration. In that case there is a vibration in the cosmos that the tarotist unconsciously receives and which determines which cards are drawn. One is for the past and on is for the future.

In my previous draft you can see the code I used as in my short movie.
